La Poste & ePages: Strong Partners for French E-Commerce

30. November 2009/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Volker Schwarz

France‘s e-commerce market continues to grow. For the second quarter of 2009, FEVAD (France’s umbrella organization for e-commerce and distance selling) has determined that French e-commerce merchants once again experienced sales growth. Sales rose by an average of 25 percent compared with the first quarter. And with Box e-commerce — a new product from La Poste, France’s state-run provider of logistics services — a new and strong competitor will soon enter this market. The technology behind Box e-commerce: ePages 6.

With Box E-commerce, La Poste and ePages will offer to customers of the French provider of logistics services an opportunity to succeed in e-commerce. The software is based on the ePages 6 cloud-computing platform. This innovative shop solution offers excellent features on a rental basis. For one low monthly fee, La Poste customers enjoy a fully operational e-commerce platform — including hosting, maintenance, and application management.

“ePages is the only platform which met all our requirements for our new offer. This constitutes an intuitive and comprehensive solution. On the one hand, it simplifies the creation of a website. At the same time, this solution offers an astonishing array of essential and professional marketing functionalities,” explains Jean-Louis Carrasco, Director of New Services and Innovation at the La Poste Group.

In order to perfectly prepare for the French market, La Poste has enhanced the Box e-commerce offer by complementing the ePages software solution with additional functions such as the integration of the Scellius payment gateway from Banque Postale, express mail from Chronopost and Colissimo parcel services.

There are two different versions of Box e-commerce. One is for the simple realisation of straightforward business websites. The other is a larger bundle for creating a fully functional online shop for the selling and renting of products and services. Our partnership with La Poste is pioneering and promising,” explains Wilfried Beeck, CEO of ePages. “We are very pleased with this partnership.” Effective immediately, this new product will be offered for rent to all customers at over 17,000 La Poste locations.
