15. October 2015/0 Comments/in Online shop & ecommerce /by herbertbuchhorn

The ePages academy once again brought to the stage some of the key issues of selling online: Branding, international selling, social media marketing, design and payments. Under the title ‘Sell Smarter Online’, this latest coaching event delivered great knowledge and insights in a friendly setting, with fantastic networking and interaction between merchants and e-commerce professionals.

ePages’ Software Trainer, André Podeyn, explored the modern day essentials for creating an attractive online brand and how to express this effectively within your online shop. He emphasised the importance of being genuine and consistent with the image of your brand: design, colors, slogan and logo.

Alex Murphy from Ingenico, provided great presentation full of best practice tips and techniques for selling internationally. He illustrated what to consider before selling abroad, what the complexities are to be considered re (localisation, returns, taxes…) and what the most common payment methods and processes should be depending on the country/region.

Sam Haddadi from Digital Clicks impressed with his practical guide to Social Media Marketing. He spoke about email marketing, conversion, the value of great content that will support and enhance the purchasing decision and how to leverage social media to attract and engage people with your brand.

Rehan Sajjad, web designer from ePages, leapt onto the stage to speak about Design tips and tricks for a modern web shop. He introduced concepts such as flat design, rich typography, background images and card design as well as presenting a live demo on how to efficiently structure the design elements of an online shop.

The day ended with a real highlight – the chance for merchants to receive a direct interactive appraisal of their online shops. During this session, merchants heard valuable expert feedback from all the experts present.

If you were also there with us, feel free to share your feedback in the comments. This was our final academy event for the year but we will be back back in 2016 with more events.
