Millennials, generation Y, digital natives – the generation of people born between the late 1970s and the year 2000 has been called many names. Sociologists tend to regard people of this age group as very tech oriented. No wonder – it was the first generation who grew up with the internet and its possibilities. That is also one of the reasons why online shopping and e-commerce are of outstanding importance for millennials.
Ereviews has recently released an infographic about the online shopping habits of this generation.
The interesting findings include the fact that buying typical e-commerce goods like books or shoes online is not enough for many of them: 40% of the male population and 33% of the females would buy everything online if that would be possible.
Researching and buying online is also taking up quite some time for many of the study’s participants, and that is on a daily basis: 45% of them spend an hour every day browsing on retail-related websites.
